Month 2 with Dean

Deans at 2 months weighed 14 lb 14 oz. and his height was 23 1/2 inches.
Dean has finally starting liking the swing a little bit more. He will sit in it a little longer than he has in the past. Still struggles to sleep during the day, and wants to be held while he sleeps. It was hard for me to work and get things done around the house. Either Mikal or I had to hold him constantly. He still sleeps pretty good at night. About 3 hour stretches so he eats around 10 or 11 at night and then 1 or 2 in the morning and again around 4 or 5, but he likes to get up at around 6:00 and stay awake for like an hour and a half. 😕 Still makes his little raptor noise a lot when he is super tired/stretching/getting his bum changed.

LONG eyelashes

Loves to get his bum changed all the time and does not like to sit in his soiled diaper. While we were moving things into our storage unit in Pasco, I asked my mom to hold him. She brought him out of the car to get a little break and his diaper must have been so full that he just basically peed out of his diaper! It was dripping down his legs and onto the concrete. It was pretty funny.
He has started cooing and talking with us with TONS of smiles when he is awake. He is trying to laugh, but still has to work on that. He loves to be patted pretty hard on his back, hear the "shhh" from our voices, bounce up and down and side to side to be put to sleep on your shoulder. He LOVES to fight sleep. He will try so hard to stay awake and starts to get super fussy and whiny. He does not like to be on his tummy that long on the ground, but loves to sleep on us with his tummy.
This house will have so many memories with it! 5/12/2019 (Mother's Day) We lived there for 3 years.

Mom sent me a picture of me around Dean's age and I can finally see some resemblance of me in him!

A close family friend of our passed away on May 15th. Todd Merrill was a great man and such a good/loving father. We were sad to see him leave this Earth, but grateful for the Plan of Salvation to be able to see him again. We were lucky enough to make it back to the funeral and take a load to the storage unit. We did not end up leaving until 7 pm on Wednesday May 22nd and stopped outside of Baker at a rest stop to get a couple hour break. We pulled into my parents house at 6 am. We were able to get all the stuff in the storage unit that afternoon and it was SOOO hot! We found out that Mikal's truck was leaking oil the whole drive and we needed to replace a part before we headed back. It would take him at least 3 hours. So Friday morning, instead of him going to the funeral, he worked on the truck (he really wanted to go to the funeral) All of my siblings were able to go to the funeral ( even Brad flew in!) We went to the funeral and it was as good a funeral can be. Always sad, but such a great thing to see everyone and hear all the good things Todd did. We went out to eat after the funeral at Fiesta and then I went back and waited until Mikal finished his truck. We left around 5:30  pm and ended up getting to Rexburg about 3:30 am. Dean did very well for the long drives! Since we were traveling at night and in the truck, he did very good and only had a few times that it was hard for him.

We got up in the morning and I ran out to get Sage at Mikal's parents because we left her in Idaho for the short trip home. Dean also had his 2 month shot appointment that day as well. He did really well with his shots and my parents came over and started helping fill another U-Haul trailer. My parents, Keldon, Carter, Brad, and Peter & Kira's family came down for Dean's baby blessing and to help up finish up moving. We were so grateful for their help! We did about 4 hours of packing then went up to Warm River to feed the fish and hike Mesa Falls. Dean slept for a good majority of the time, but as we were getting ready to leave he screamed bloody murder. I had my mom pick up some Tylenol for him and he did so good the rest of the time. He had the biggest blow-out poop up his back while we were feeding the fish though!

Outfit for church

Nora purchased the outfit I picked out on Etsy and Aunt Jana made the blanket

Dean's blessing was a good one. I did not write it down, or record it (which was a bummer, but I later got a letter from my friend who wrote down some parts of it for me.) but Mikal gave him a very good blessing. He said that Dean was a sign of hope. Since he was our miracle baby, he is MY hope. I love him so much and I love being a mother. It is so nice to not have to work full time though, but still be able to do a little bit of bookkeeping for Smith, Kunz.
Dean is growing super fast! I weighed him 4 day after his 2 month appointment and he had already gained a pound.
