September 2021

Some days are good and some days are hard. Some days I feel numb; other days I feel all the emotions running through me. Highs and lows of all that has happened. Things ended up taking a turn for the worst with my dad. He was low on oxygen and loosing quite a bit of weight. My mom ended up taking him into the hospital and he was in there for a week. I have never seen my dad suffer and be so negative in my whole life. It broke my heart that he just seemed so miserable and had no desire to try and stay positive. To say that those few weeks in my family were horrible would be an understatement, but we made it through them and learned we can do tough things!

September was a month of reflection and walks. We spent lots of time out enjoying the rest of the warm weather we were going to have. We visited the fair in Cashmere, went to the Discovery center at the Rocky Reach Dam, harvested honey, caught some big salmon fish, mountain drives, lake fishing, visited Granny and Grandpa's house a couple times, played at lots of parks, and drank lots of hot chocolate!

Dean loves to ride the strider bike all over. He is still a pro at riding on the pump tracks and riding around the parks going fast! He has only had a few accidents, but nothing that ends up scaring him enough that he won't get back on and keep going. He has very little fear right now!

Smelling the flowers on our bike ride

We loved visiting the Rocky Reach Dam. They had some cool activities for the kids to do and got to see the fish swimming in the ladder. It just recently got redone so it was pretty neat! We also love to play on the playground that they have there as well too! It was a nice little getaway for us the beginning of September.

We harvested our first batch of honey from Mikal's bees. He was so excited! We went back to my parents and used my dads stuff. It was definitely an experience and we got a ton of honey! I think we ended up with about 7 half gallon jars full. The honey tastes fine, but the smell of the honey stinks like stinky feet! It would not be good to give to people because it smelled so yucky. Mikal learned that he needs to do less "smoking" on the bees because that is what was causing the honey to have that smell. It is learning curve for Mikal and he enjoys finding out new and helpful things that will make his honey and bees be successful.

We spent our 9 year anniversary out at Cashmere park with Dean. We walked along the river and played at the dirt pump park. We cannot believe that we have been married for 9 years!

Here are the rest of the fun pictures for the month!
