October 2021
Fall has begun to show off. Red, orange & yellow have decided to make their apperance and I am just loving the cooler weather! We invited my sister Kira, Wesley & Sam to come up and go for a little stroll up in the mountains outside of Leavenworth. The boys enjoyed running and exploring the river. We even saw some rock climbers! After letting the boys run for play along the trail, we came back to Wenatchee and made some soup for dinner.
My brother Brad flew into Pasco from New York for a few days. Dean and I headed over to my parents house for 2 days. We hung out at the house, helped with apple harvest and even stopped at the Rowley & Hawkins pumpkin patch on the way back to Wentachee. Dean loved the straw maze and running through the pumpkin patch pointing at every pumpkin!
Saturday morning, October 9th, Mikal got a call from my Uncle Rick. My cousin Austin's van broke down up in Winthrop. Mikal called around and was able to borrow a trailer from the Lott family to go up and bring down the van to help him get it working again. Austin and his girlfriend Silva ended up being able to get the van running and stayed the night at our place. It was fun to see them!
Mikal had a few inspections that next week up in Winthrop, so Dean and I decided to tag along. We got to see all the beautiful colors and walk through the town of Winthrop. We loved the bridges! We also loved throwing rocks in the river.
My mom called and asked if I could come help with juicing apples. She had a date planned with people coming to help. We spent the weekend juicing and Mikal working on his truck. We had a lot of help and people really enjoyed seeing the process of how we make juice.
Our church ward has been struggling to fulfill callings and our bishop moved a couple months prior. I have been the primary president for the past year and have struggled to get my primary teachers to come. They finally made the necessary changes to help out some of the wards in our stake. They ended up dissolving our ward and combining it with the 2 neighboring wards. I enjoyed my time as primary president, but thankful that now our primary kids will be able to have a better operating primary.
October 18th- Our vacuum died last week and so I finally decided it was time to purchase a decent vacuum. I did some research and finally decided to purchase one from Costco. That evening, as I was getting ready to go to head out, there was a loud knock. I slowly walked over to the door and opened it. No one was there. I looked down and there was a black bag. I looked around outside and picked it up. I felt it. It felt like money. I looked back at Mikal in shock. I opened the bag. Sure enough, it was money. A LOT of it. I opened the card that was in the bag and tears filled my eyes and rolled down my cheeks. Someone anonomously left us $15,000 cash on our doorstep for us to do another round of IVF. We are here in Wenatchee at this time in our life for a reason. The people here in Wenatchee have been so welcoming to us. We cannot believe that someone would be so generous and kind to give someone they barely know that amount of money. Our hearts are so full and bursting at the seams. I told Mikal that once we make excess amounts of money, we have to do something like that to someone someday.
We will forever be grateful for the out pouring of love we have received in Wenatchee. We have been forever blessed. The Lord knows the desire of our hearts. We have been temporally blessed to be able to try IVF again this soon.
Funny/embarrassing moment: I was driving my car and noticed it started smelling like exhaust. It was awful! It also sounded pretty loud. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I thought maybe there was another leak in the exhaust manifold. As I was checking the oil before I headed to my parents for the weekend, I checked the oil. I opened up the hood to find that my never screwed the lid back on last time I filled the oil! Oil was everywhere! I put new oil in it and made sure I put the lid back on it this time. My car doesn't stink or make the loud noise anymore! Glad I figured out the problem and that the lid was still under the hood!
Saturday the 23th, I drove down to my parents house to go to a Witches night out fundraiser for Operation Underground Railroad. It was fun to dress up, hang out with women, and dance! Kira and I convinced my mom to come and she enjoyed it as well!

On the 29th, we went with Mikal to Moses Lake and stopped at a little pumpkin patch and grabbed some pumpkins to decorate. We also had our ward trunk or treat that night. Dean and I dressed up! I found my old cheerleading outfit and Dean dressed up as Sully from Monsters Inc. (my sister Kira has a lot of costumes)
Halloween fell on Sunday this year, but Mikal volunteered to help distribute candy at the mall. We decorated his truck and handed out so much candy! We even made Dean a shirt to be “just like daddy” and people thought it was so great!
