October 2020
The first weekend in October is always general conference. On that particular Sunday morning of general conference, Dean decided to poop in his pants and I stuck my finger in his poop while I was checking it. He then proceeded to go outside and step in dog poop. He came running inside with his push lawn mower that had dog poop all over the wheels, his pant legs and shoes. We noticed he had the poop all over him, so we changed him and he grabbed a pillow off the couch and started pushing it all over the floor. 🙈 This was a morning just full of POOP! To make matters worse, Dean has decided that getting his bum changed is not fun. He has become a fighter.
We took Dean fishing with his own fishing pole for the 1st time. He enjoyed holding the fish and throwing them back in. He loved running around and exploring the most. Mikal found a little snake and Dean did even flinch holding it!
Dean and I were finally able to take our trip to New York. I was getting excited to travel again and go back and visit my brother and his family. Dean does actually really well traveling still and loves to watch the airplanes. We spent lots of time outside seeing the beautiful colors and playing with the cousins. We went apple picking, hiking, ice cream at Dairyland, pumpkin patch, at apple cider donuts visited Cooperstown and a cider mill. We had a blast!
Dean is finally catching on to saying some words. He can now say "uh oh" and "pa"
He also loves to copy everything we do. Every time we change his bum, he runs to the bathroom and wants to sit on the toilet. Sometimes he will even pee in the toilet! He does have pooping spots (outside in the bushes), but I am thinking I will try once we get back from our vacation in February. He also likes to "put contacts in, brush his teeth, spray some cologne and put on deodorant."
Mikal invited Keldon to go hunting in a new place this year. Things did not go as planned and places were not clearly marked-- in turn lets just say that this hunting experience ended up being one that will never be forgotten. Mikal got in trouble with the law (by accident) and we will have to wait and see what the judge has to say.
I was able to get Mikal to go take some family pictures by ourselves. I grabbed an old tripod and camera and we took off to Cashmere down by the river. On the way there, my Buick started over heating. We made it to Cashmere with the car only overheating once, but on the way back, it would overheat every mile it seemed. It took us over an hour to get home when it should have only taken 15 minutes. We parked the car and decided we were not going to fix it, but sell it for super cheap.
Jessica & Aaron Hawkins decided that they were moving back to Basin City, so our Primary presidency was basically dissolved. I got approached a couple weeks later at church to have a meeting with the bishop.... sure enough- I got called as the Primary President! What a strenuous calling when I have no clue who people are in the ward!
Dean had his 1st dentist appointment and he did very well! He let the nurse and doctor brush and floss his teeth. They were surprised how well he did. He has a small lip tie and looked as if some previous cavities on the top front teeth. She said they could clear up soon.
We never made it to a pumpkin patch this year, so I picked up a pumpkin from the store and we carved it that night. Dean did not like touching the insides of the pumpkin and would make the greatest faces. He thought the pumpkin was so great once we finished

Mikal left to go hunting for the week up in the Blue Mountains so decided to go to my moms house for Halloween. Kira had a dinosaur costume that would fit Dean. It was the cutest thing ever on him! Dean was so scared of Wesley's blow up dinosaur costume and would cry every time he got close to him which in turn made Samuel cry. We made Oreo spiders as a fun little activity during the day. That evening, we went to the Columbia Basin ward trunk or treat.
This month was one full of lots of trials and learning experiences!
Dean also had his 18 month checkup!
Weight: 31 lb (98th percentile)
