December 2020

The final month of the crazy year to 2020.

Dean enjoyed the tree in the house! He kept going over and smelling the tree and touching the lights. He did pretty well at leaving the ornaments on the tree. I have the lights on a timer and every night when they would turn on, he would get so excited and run up to the tree and shout happiness!

We took a Sunday drive and stopped to see the beautiful snow on Badger Mountain. Mikal loves exploring the surrounding areas and especially looking for coyotes.

We had a ward drive thru party and we (the Primary presidency) prepared a small bag for the primary kids. It turned out great and Dean even got to see Santa!

Dean points and "ahhhhs" every time we drive around and see Christmas lights.

I was able to find $150.00 round trip tickets to Idaho Falls out of Pasco. We decided that we would go for the new year instead of Christmas. Mikal took on Yakima's area for the month of December. The sales manager took off the month of December-- but ended up retiring, so he is currently still managing Wenatchee area and Yakima area. This makes his days long and LOTS of driving. Yakima is at least 2 hours away.

We had our Christmas on the 24th this year. Dean loved opening presents and thought it was the best thing every! His facial expressions and "ahhhs" were just the cutest thing! We got him a Tonka dump truck, Mega Bloks for his big gifts. We also got him a hyrdo cell water bottle and a few other small things for his stocking. It was a nice small Christmas full of love. Mikal decided to get me a gift card to Buckle to buy some pants. (good choice) I got Mikal a hyrdo cell water bottle and the annual slippers! Around lunch time, we headed to my parents. We decided to spend the Christmas weekend with my family since it was only going to be Dad, Mom & the 2 boys. My mom was so happy that we were there! She kept saying that it would have been such a boring Christmas without "young ones" to bring the excitement. 😁 Carter had us for Christmas, so he got Dean a toolbox and a bathtub fishing set. Dean was in LOVE! My mom asked me what we should do during the time we had together and I said I wanted to make pecan rolls! I love to make them every year around Christmas time. So that is what we did!

Mikal went to the chiropractor because his back was hurting really bad. He got some x-rays done and found out that his bottom vertebra is pinched and doesn't have a disc between it. his tailbone is also at like a 80 degree angle instead of a 45 degree angle like it should be. OUCH!

We had a small Christmas this year (nothing out of the ordinary), but we are so grateful that Mikal has a job he loves and we are financially stable! We have put a lot of money towards debt this year and it has allowed me to relax a lot more. Even though this pandemic has been a pain in the butt, we are so glad that we were not affected by it and kept ours healthy. The year 2020 has sucked being out in public and having to wear masks, but we were still able to do so much "normal" things we enjoy doing.
