November 2020

While we were in New York visiting the cousins, Dean found a love for the mega blocks. He learned how to stack them and since then, has started stacking everything! It is so fun to see him learn and be excited about those little moments in his life. He also decided that he was done eating in the high chair. We bought a small folding table and chairs a while back and that is now what we eat on as a family! He is doing very well at feeding himself and keeping most of the food on his plate instead of the ground.

Leaves have been changing and falling onto the ground. We have been raking leaves into piles and running through them! We still spend lots of time outside enjoy playing with Sage. We take our daily walks and Dean has also decided that the jogger is no longer fun and actually "walking" the dog is the best. We borrowed a dinosaur leash backpack from my sister Kira to test out if Dean would do okay with it. He LOVED it! Score!

Mikal noticed one day that there was a rat turd on the dog food container. He ended up putting bait stations around the house and rat traps in the garage.  Since the Buick was having car issues, he popped open the hood and noticed little there was rats running around in the car. He put rat traps in the truck and Buick and sure enough, we caught 2 rats! GROSS! Thank goodness Mikal is our own personal pest control man! 😁

I have started baking a lot more and Dean loves to help. He pushes his little chairs around the kitchen and has to be up helping stir and testing the food all the time. He favorite thing is to pull the bottom drawer out and stand on it to get things he needs. Good thing that we live in a house with old solid wood drawers!😄

I decided it was time to redo the ottoman that we were given. Besides the fact that the floral print was hideous, the fabric was ripping and kept getting bigger. Dean loved helping use the staple gun and kept trying to jump on it until the air compressor came on and he would run onto the couch (his safe spot) and wait for it to stop making noise. It was not as hard as I thought, but still fun to do! (not something I would enjoy doing all the time though!)

Dean has also found a love for boxes. He has been playing with them a lot lately and its been a joy to see him so happy!

Friday the 20th, we headed to my mom and dad's to spend the weekend. We went swimming at the Oakdell egg farm and then Saturday we hung out at my moms and had a nice dinner. My mom made mud pie for my birthday treat and we went home that night! Around this time, Dean also decided to totally botch his sleeping schedule. We haven't been able to get him to go to bed at a decent hour and go down easily. He has been teething and getting his canines in.

We were lucky enough to go to my parents for Thanksgiving. I was in charge to the rainbow Jell-O this year and it was the first time I have ever done it by myself! I did not have a big enough pan and my fridge is not level, so it was pretty great to see the final product. A little crooked and the layers got slimmer and slimmer 😂 We just did a small Thanksgiving. Melissa & Joseph came up from Utah and Peter & Kira came over as well. It was fun to see baby Matthew for the first time. Cute little chunk!

The Sunday after Thanksgiving, I finally got sustained as the new Primary President. I had know for over a month and finally they were able to get me sustained! This calling will be very interesting during this time and not knowing anyone in the ward! We also went up around Leavenworth and picked up our Christmas tree. My parents & Kira & Peter's family came over for lunch and then we headed up and picked out tree. My mom was so happy to have gotten a real tree this year! On the way home, we drove through Leavenworth and saw all the beautiful lights!

I have also started making a lot of photo books for all the trips we went on this year. I have been trying to keep up on all the big events that have been happenings!

Dean has also started tumbling! It is the cutest thing to see him do somersaults.

He also still loves to play the piano and will bring out music to play, but does not want me to play the piano for him.
