An Extraordinary Christmas Break--

After 4 years of telling my Daddy I was going to make him a quilt of Grandpa Gibbons' old plaid shirts, I finally got it finished and quilted with salmon. I loved how it turned out! I am not great at sewing, but I at least can do something simple! It is safe to say, he loved the gift! My sister's Kira, Melissa and Brooke all helped pitch in to pay for the quilting costs which was very helpful!

I created this Family Proclamation for my mom for Christmas.

Since Mikal got the job plowing snow, he was not able to go to Washington with me because it was supposed to snow in Idaho during Christmas. I was pretty bummed that he was not able to go with me, but thankful that I was able to go see my family for Christmas. It is always nice to be around family during the holidays. I hitched a ride with my cousin Kendall and Adam so if Mikal was able to come we wouldn't have 2 vehicles up in Washington. Sadly, he was not able to come up. It was a different Christmas that's for sure.
I was able to help my parents do some remodeling while I was there. My parents are putting down some new flooring and painting the office. Here is some of the progress that we did while I was there!

Putting a temporary band-aid on the house for now!
Christmas Eve it decided to snow, so we did have a white Christmas in Washington!
Wesley and I made this cute little gingerbread house. We had a lot of fun making it!

We played outside in the snow Christmas afternoon, then that evening we left to go to Portland to visit Kira, Peter & Everett. Wesley stayed with us for Christmas so that he could have the experience with all his aunts and uncles. We sure did have fun see all the kids open their presents!

I get all my nieces and nephews a crocheted gift when they are born. I was finally able to have my sister-in-law create a Batman for Oliver for me this year. She can make ANYTHING!! Oliver sure loved it. It was almost the size of him! I am pretty sure it was like 18 inches tall! The cape can even be taken off. It is a pretty sweet little thing.

The roads were pretty bad while we were headed to Portland to see Kira, Peter and Everett. It took us longer than we would have liked to get there. There was a couple accidents and you could see where people had gone off the road. Dad had to swerve at one point so a semi wouldn't hit us, but thankfully we made it safely there! We got to see them that night for a little bit, so that was nice, but then we hung out with them all day the next day. Here is a picture of me and Everett. His eye is definitely getting better. It is not so purple anymore. That little boy is such a happy little dude! He is always smiling and just loves being held. I just couldn't get enough of him! We were also able to ride the tram up to the hospital. That was pretty neat! Too bad the clouds were low and it was raining so we couldn't see very far.

The last thing we did before I left Washington was make pecan logs. I am not very good at documenting things with pictures, so I am glad I got this one! This is when we were making the fondant. I think this part is worse than stirring the caramel forever!

The roads were good so I ended up getting a ride back with Brooke and Josh early to be home before New Years Eve to hang out with Mikal. He picked me up in Burley. It was good to have a few days with him while I was on break from work. He ended up working all day on Christmas so that kept him busy. He was able to go to the Terry Christmas party and eat a nice dinner with his family while I was away. I am just glad he had some family to be around during the Christmas time.
On the 31st, we took a drive out to the desert. It is the last day until May that you can be out driving around on the desert. We took Sage out to run and burn some energy. She has SO much energy it is insane! I sometimes wish I was that young again so I could get a lot more done then be so tired all the time.

Our most recent picture. I guess sometimes you gotta show your future what you always drove around!

Just a few more videos about Sage. Mikal spent quite a bit of time with her while I was away. He was always sending me pictures and videos of her. He took her to the park to "play" and she got to experience what it was like to go "down the slide." She has also got in a bad habit of whining when she wants attention. Mikal finally got her on camera doing it!

Well, that is it for now. I am so thankful for all the family in my life and for the ability to make enough money to travel to see my family. Family has been on my mind a lot lately with all the crazy things in life that have been happening. I have to remember to thank my Heavenly Father every night for all that he has given me.
