Thankful--Grateful--Blessed🍗

Image
This past couple weeks have been some crazy ones to take in. I have been working on tons of projects in the garage and building a lot for others. Here are a couple of my latest: Thanksgiving week was just around the corner, as was my birthday. On Tuesday we went out to eat at Red Robin so I could get my free burger like I get every year. That is all we did. Nothing special. I did get a phone call from my sister Kira calling to keep little Everett who is 5 months in our prayers. He was have some unusual bruising on his left eye. They had gone to a specialist and was told if it got worse to head to the hospital.  On Thanksgiving day, we went out to Mikal's parents house and had a big dinner. I brought some little penguins because I really like to have one of my little traditions brought to the table.  The day after Thanksgiving, we went out with the Terry family and Josh and Hailey's family as well to get a Christmas tree. We drove up Kelly Canyon a...

Today is going to be SUPER!

Image
Can I tell you how much stress I had this week?! Boy, was I busy. I was in charge of our ward's super activity this last Saturday. I had the girls choose between 2 different crafts. The first one was making a little Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus wood, string art craft.   The other craft was a paper dahlia   They also could make chocolate dipped pretzels! It was a great time on Saturday chatting and hanging out with all the girls, but getting it all set up was the most difficult part. I couldn't sleep most of the week thinking about all of the things I needed to get and get done. I had to chop all the wood and that took some time. I also had to cut out all the stencils or vinyl for the girls a well.  I do have to say though, I thoroughly enjoyed crafting with everyone!! It really made me want to start up my little workshops once a month to get a group together to build crafts!  I get so excited during this time of the year. Family, food, and cr...

Quick Getaway🌋

I love to look for vacations! Mikal is always rolling his eye's when I tell him of all these awesome deals that I find. My grandma has a timeshare and I am blessed to be able to use it. I found a cheap night and got two other couples to go with us to West Yellowstone. We had a blast! We got to see a few sights and just relax that evening. It was a pretty chilly day, but the sun would go in and out of the clouds so it was perfect! We saw Old Faithful blow, and stopped at a few hot spots, and also went to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. This world that we live in has such amazing sights and shows us some of the greatest creations of all time! I absolutely love to travel and cannot get enough of it. Grand Canyon of Yellowstone Hiked down to the top of the falls! Sunset on the drive out of the park Hot spots Mikal's favorite thing... pictures haha!

Hunting adventures!🌄

Image
This past couple weeks, Mikal has been hunting non-stop! He has been out almost every morning and almost every evening. He LOVES hunting. (that is an understatement) He LIVES for hunting season every year. He is like a little boy at Christmas. He goes out and just loves to see all the animals and explore the mountains and desert! He saw so many deer (does) and quite a few bull moose! He even got to see two of them fighting. He thought that was pretty neat! I was able to go out with him a few times and was never able to get a chance to have an open shot on anything. Mikal on the other hand, was able to shoot this guy! He was pretty happy to be able to get him and bring some meat home for us! We love jerky! Mikal did a lot of hiking and walking during these past couple weeks. I bet he hiked over 100 miles! Mikal loves the mountains so much that we often take drives up there to explore and see new places. We took a drive last Sunday and got to see the pretty fall colors again and t...

Harvest time

Image
This past week, Mikal and I were able to go back to Washington and visit the family farm. We got to help with apple harvest and eat fresh apples off the trees! I love me a cold, crisp apple! It was so nice to get away and take walks in the morning with Sage and be out on the farm. She sure is growing up fast! She loves to be at the farm since she can wander anywhere she pleases, but stays close enough that when we call, she comes running back. Such a good pup she is! She loves hunting bunnies we found out and she was so excited she was prancing around with this bunny in her mouth! Mikal also went down to the river a couple times with my dad to go salmon fishing. That is his favorite thing to do while we are there. He sure does miss fishing and working with my dad a lot! I helped with apple harvest by leveling the bins. It was so great to be able to do actual labor work instead of sitting at a desk! I went out to visit my old stomping grounds (potato harvest) and loved visiting...

Leaves are Falling, Autumn is Calling

Image
In Idaho, you can NEVER predict the weather. One day you will be wearing shorts and dying of heat and the next day it can snow. Ha! Summer was a quick one here and ended very abruptly, but lucky for me, this is my favorite time of year. Especially in Idaho. The colors, harvest time, canning season, the scents in the air just make me so happy! It also makes Mikal happy as well because that means it is that time to go up to the mountains to go HUNTING and down to the river to go FISHING! Mikal finished his archery class last week and now is dying to go get a bow to hunt. We took a drive up to the mountains on Friday and visited his uncles at their hunting camp. It was pretty muddy driving up there and there ended up being a bit of snow as well. It was so beautiful! I have also been working on sewing projects and started looking at more fall craft ideas. I have tons of wood projects I want to build, but we have been so busy with activities and outing that we have not been abl...

5 years...

Next month Mikal and I will celebrate 5 years of marriage! We have done a lot throughout these last few years. We have moved between Idaho and Washington a couple times, started a construction company, gone back to school, and even got a little chocolate lab. Here is to 5 years of craziness and much more to go!
