Thankful--Grateful--Blessed🍗

This past couple weeks have been some crazy ones to take in. I have been working on tons of projects in the garage and building a lot for others. Here are a couple of my latest:



Thanksgiving week was just around the corner, as was my birthday. On Tuesday we went out to eat at Red Robin so I could get my free burger like I get every year. That is all we did. Nothing special. I did get a phone call from my sister Kira calling to keep little Everett who is 5 months in our prayers. He was have some unusual bruising on his left eye. They had gone to a specialist and was told if it got worse to head to the hospital.
 On Thanksgiving day, we went out to Mikal's parents house and had a big dinner. I brought some little penguins because I really like to have one of my little traditions brought to the table. 




The day after Thanksgiving, we went out with the Terry family and Josh and Hailey's family as well to get a Christmas tree. We drove up Kelly Canyon and it was super muddy! We were able to each get a tree that we liked and had some fun hanging out there with the puppies Sage and Summer. 



We got news from Kira and Peter on Thanksgiving that they were going to the emergency room down in Las Vegas because they were down in St. George. The doctor there did a CT scan and said that they needed to go back to Washington ASAP to get him the treatment he needs. They found a mass under his eye. 
It was a hard week. I struggled to keep my emotions in because it was so hard to know that my little 5 month old nephew had cancer. Very aggressive cancer. Neuroblastoma. He has 3 tumors on his left eye, 2 on the other. Spots on the adrenal gland and liver as well. They started chemo right away and did lots of testing. They have been in the hospital since Thanksgiving. I mailed her a package with decorations and some treats at the hospital. She got them last week and was very thankful!

I am so thankful for this gospel and for prayer in my life. I went to the temple that Saturday and put his name in. It was good for me to go. I needed it. I posted this quote I found on Facebook and I just wanted to restate it. It really helped me understand what was happening within my family.

"Heavenly Father has perfect foresight, knows each of us, and knows our future. He knows what difficulties we will pass through. He sent His Son to suffer so that He would know how to succor us in all our trials."

Month 7- Harvest time

Dean started off the month of October sleeping a lot better than the month of September. Instead of 2-3 hour stretches, we got 4-5! He has now started acknowledging his name when you say it.  Mikal bought Dean a cute little red ball cap. It is so cute on him! I also got to put him in his little hunting outfits. I love me some red buffalo plaid!     We met my cousin Carmen and her family at the Middleton Fall Festival. It was fun to take Wesley and enjoy so time outside of the house! Dean played in the corn pit and had a blast feeling the corn and picking it up- we also went again later in the month with Joseph, Melissa, Oliver & Jane. I spent lots of time making/picking grapes to juice. Dean was very impatient at times and other times very patient with me! Dean went on a couple tractor rides in the sprayer with Dad. Birth of Baby Dean

March 24th - Sunday night at 8 pm we headed into Madison Memorial Hospital to start the induction. I was still only dilated a fingertip. They put a small cervidil in me to soften my cervix. It was not comfortable and I was given half an ambien to help with the pain and sleep, but I was not able to sleep at all that night. I tossed and turned all night long and had to get up and go to the bathroom every hour. March 25th- Around 6 am, Monday March 25th, they got me a piece of toast and that was all I could eat until after the baby was born. They took out the cervidil and started me on Pitocin and broke my water. I was exhausted. I was still in pain, but not as bad after getting that cervidil out. Around 10:00 am, they came in a checked me and I was dilated 1 cm. They told me that he probably would not be born until Tuesday, March 26th. My heart dropped.
