July- Happy Birthday America!πŸŽ†

Mikal has had pretty bad allergies this month and has had lots of bad migraines. I think its because the season has finally hit for Summer and it is now HOT. June was more of rainy month and turned July into a hot, dry month. I started taking Sage on her walks in the evening (trying to get more exercise for me). I decided to do a more intense walk instead of just walking around the park like we normally do. I took her up to see the Rexburg Temple. πŸ˜€
Those squinty eyes!

The 4th of July, in the morning we traveled down to Logan in the morning for a doctors appointment.
When we got back in town later that afternoon, we drove to Beaver Dick to play in the water with Sage (as it was a very hot day). Mikal got in and swam with her. He was playing hide-and-seek in the water. So when he would duck under water, Sage would swim out to him and try and find him before he came up. She got a little too close to him one time and scratched the crap out of his chest! Haha! I laughed so hard. It was pretty funny if you ask me.
We then headed over to Menan to hang out with Mikal's family. We walked around the street vendors and then we sat and waited for the firework show. It was a pretty good one this year. Sage was not the biggest fan of them, but was not completely scared of them. She is scared of fireworks, but guns do not scare her one bit!

Friday, Sammi Naef came into town and we went floating at Warm Slough. It is always fun to just relax and hang out with an amazing friend!

On the 11th of July, we headed down for another appointment in Logan. While we were there, I told Mikal that I wanted to see where my Great Grandpa Gibbons' park was and to also see where my Grandpa Gibbons was raised. My Dad was home so he pulled it up on Google Maps and gave me the address to Grandpa's house. It was pretty fun to see! My Aunt Trudy also told me that the house across the street was the house that my Grandpa built to live in with the 4 oldest kids before he moved to Washington to start the farm. I am sad I did not get a picture of that! I told myself next time we go down there!

I tried something new in my dutch oven. I did not want to heat up the house, so I cooked outside on the cook stove my sausage and noodles. I then created a lasagna in my dutch oven and cooked it with the briquettes! It was sweet! It tasted pretty good too! I accidentally burned it a little bit because I had to leave for a Relief Society Activity and forget to tell Mikal to check it.
I also did not have a chimney to get my briquettes started so I used one of my big tin cans! I get the usefulness from my daddy. :)

Mikal has also been fishing a lot and has caught quite a bit of fish; browns and trout. On both the Teton and the Snake.
BIG Brown!

Idaho Falls, Green Belt

I caught the biggest one!
One of the couples that we hang out with in Rexburg is leaving for a job for the next couple weeks and will probably be moving to Idaho Falls, so we went and drove out to Warm River to feed the fish and go up to Mesa Falls. It was a fun Sunday drive up the mountain! We love taking people to feed the fish because they are soooo big! Sage loved playing in the water and exploring the mountains. You can tell those are her happy places in life 🐢

Mikal's extended family does a big 24th of July celebration at his Aunts yard. We all watch the parade from her yard and then we have a big potluck lunch. It was super fun! We always have fun hangout out with extended family! I didn't get any pictures of it though, which is sad!

July has been full of little adventures close to Rexburg this summer. Also, Mikal is super excited this year for hunting season; both drew on a bull elk in the desert!!! Hopefully the fires we have been having don't ruin our hunting season and we have an early winter to push them down!
