June- It doesn't matter how slow you go as long as you don't stop
June has been a slow month and long month. It started off with doing another Super Saturday activity with my ward again for the girls. They got to choose between an America Sign, an American flag or firecrackers. They were all super simple and cute! It was a lot easier to do this Super Saturday activity compared to the one I did in the winter time. It was not much work on my end this time! (P.S. that metal pan Mikal found in the ground with just a little corner sticking out. It is a pan from 1942 in California. He did some research and it was a food tray)
Mikal is always fixing things. His tie-rods on his pick-up have been giving us problems with his steering and since we bought new tires in January, we didn't want to throw all that money away. He worked on his pick-up for probably about a week and a half. It was a long and frustrating time for him.
We also get to starting taking Sage to the river more and more and Mikal enjoys fishing while she runs around in the water. We usually go to the Teton River at Eagle Park in Rexburg because it is only a few miles from our house behind the fairgrounds. It is a nice little park. We also like to go to Warm Slough on the Snake River. It is a lot slower than the Teton right now and little bit warmer. We truly love the water!
We were also traveling back from Idaho Falls and it started to snow the end of June! It was actually sticking to the road and there we accidents on the freeway. There is the East Idaho weather for you! This is the second time that I have been here that it has snowed in June! It has been a pretty cool summer so far with LOTS of rain. I have never seen so much rain before in the springtime!
We have decided as well that we are going to stay here in Rexburg a little while longer. We have put an offer in on a house! The house is out in Sugar City and we are needing a bigger place for a shop so we have more room for Edgy Barnwood to grow. Our garage we have right now, is just too small. We have no room to leave a project up. It is always put up, take down, put up, take down. This place we are looking at is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath and has a two car garage and plenty of room for us to eventually build a small shop! It is pretty nice inside and does not need much work on it. Just carpet and flooring replaced and the walls in the living room. They are the sticky-out plaster walls that are EVIL! Haha! The only thing I am sad that it does not have is a downstairs, but it is on 3/4 of an acre. The house is on a reverse mortgage (short sale) but it is for sure taking a lot longer than we would like! We have been working on the paper work and the mortgage for 3 weeks now. We are hoping to hear back soon!
